Direct answer
Prioritize reliable quest matches, keep enough Treasury for urgent costs and repairs, investigate hidden Knight traits, and rewind only when the knowledge gained can materially change the next cycle.
Your first-cycle checklist
Begin each cycle at the Round Table by checking expiring quests, available Knights, armor condition, and Treasury commitments. A glamorous quest is not automatically the right quest if it strands the kingdom without the attributes needed for an urgent follow-up.
- Read the complete quest card before assigning anyone.
- Compare Strength, Agility, Charisma, Magic, and Wit instead of relying on level alone.
- Keep at least one flexible Knight available when the schedule allows.
- Use the Intendant and other Tower services to reveal information the roster screen does not show at first.
Manage people, not just numbers
Affinity, preferences, hidden traits, equipment, and armor all influence whether a strong-looking assignment is actually safe. A Knight repeatedly sent into unsuitable work may become less dependable or leave, so rotate responsibilities and read debriefs for personal reactions.
Equipment is most useful when it closes a specific weakness for an important quest. Repair damaged armor before assuming that yesterday's successful setup will perform the same way today.
When a rewind is worth it
Rewind after you learn something actionable: a hidden condition, a dangerous timing conflict, a character response, or a better order of operations. Repeating a cycle without changing the plan only spends time; repeating it with new knowledge is the core progression system.
Frequently asked questions
What should I do first in Sovereign Tower?
Review available quests, Knight attributes, deadlines, armor, and Treasury before committing the roster. Early flexibility is more valuable than chasing every reward.
Should I rewind every failed quest?
No. Rewind when the failure reveals information that lets you make a meaningfully different decision. Some imperfect outcomes are useful evidence for later cycles.
